Slovácko’s footballers lost their 22nd round match at the Čáslav ground 1:2. Even after a needless loss Slovácko still holds the third position in the table, just one point behind second Opava.
Slovácko made a few changes. Görner and Stýskala stayed on the bench, so Roman Fisher joined Grim as a halfback, with Lysoněk on the left, while Ondřej Čtvrtníček made his début in place of the excluded Racek. And it was exactly him who made a lot of problems for the home backs by his placement. Slovácko had the game under control till Slovácko’s two fullbacks misunderstood each other, the home team players taking advantage and scoring in the corner of the net. Slovácko continued attacking, but Čtvrníček’s, Šultes’s and Matůš’s chances were in vain, even as they gave the home goalkeeper an opportunity to excel himself. Slovácko also played actively entering the second half, but the home goalkeeper kicked out Gonda’s shot and Čtvrtníček only hit the crossbar. in the 58th minute Coach Kalvoda decided to take a risk and switch the formation to 3 backs game when Činčala replaced Lysoněk on the pitch. Unfortunately, instead of equalising, the home team’s next goal came from a rather harsh penalty decision. Although goalkeeper Bolek judged the direction, the sharp shot finished in the net. Slovácko persisted in their offensive game but neither Šultes’s lob nor Ineman’s and Činčala’s header finished up in the goal. In the 67th minute Šultes achieved a good position but the home goalkeeper was again performing his magic. In the end Slovácko achieved a goal after all, when Gonda’s persistence was rewarded and he reduced the deficit to 2:1. After Slovácko’s continuing effort to equalise, in the end it was the home team who celebrated a lucky victory. “We started the match well, we played an active game and we created chances. Unfortunately, we did not manage to convert even one of the three easy opportunities,” Kalvoda said regretfully. “Converting chances is our big problem. Today the ball was virtually dancing on the goal line a few times, but we did not manage to get it in the net. Unfortunately, we are missing more balance play at key moments,” Kalvoda added.
